New Yorkers and visitors bid one final goodbye to any unpleasant, frustrating, and forgettable memories from 2023 at the 17th annual Good Riddance Day in Times Square. This year’s Good Riddance Day event offers participants the opportunity to make their unhappy memories from the past year flash away and disappear, allowing all to enter 2024 feeling lighter and with a fresh start. Jonathan Bennett, co-host of the Times Square New Year’s Eve celebration, leads the event that features magician Devonte Rosero, who makes participants’ bad memories of 2023 vanish into thin air. Paper is made available to the public to record the moments they want to say farewell to from the past year.
